Privacy Policy

Account information: email address, phone number (optional), and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, name, email, and profile photo.

Profile information: full name, date of birth, gender, city, religion, sect, education, profession, income range, height, marital status, family background, languages spoken, a written bio, and what you're looking for in a partner — whatever you choose to fill in.

Photos and identity documents: profile photos you upload, and — if you complete identity verification — a copy of your CNIC (national ID). CNIC images are stored separately from your public profile photos and are only ever accessible to our verification team, never shown to other members.

Activity and usage: interests you send or receive, matches, profiles you favourite or view, messages you exchange with matches, and notification preferences.

Family Mode: if you invite a family member to review matches on your behalf, we collect their name, email, phone number, and relationship to you.

Safety reports: if you block or report another member, we record who was involved, the reason given, and any details you provide, so our moderation team can review it.

Payments (agents only): if you register as a referral agent, we collect payout account details to pay referral commissions.

We use your information to operate the core service: creating and displaying your profile to other members, matching you with compatible profiles, enabling messaging between mutual matches, verifying your identity, moderating content for safety, processing agent payouts, and sending you account, security, and (if you opt in) marketing emails.

We do not use your information to serve third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

Other members. Your profile — including photos, bio, and the details you fill in — is visible to other logged-in members, subject to the privacy settings available in your account (e.g. hiding your exact city, hiding your contact details, or browsing anonymously).

Agents. If your profile is created or managed by a registered ShadiLife agent, that agent can view and edit the profile they manage.

Service providers. We use Cloudinary to store photos and identity documents, and Resend to deliver account and notification emails. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Law enforcement or legal requests. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our members.

We never share your CNIC, password, or agent payout details with other members under any circumstances.

You can review and update most of your information at any time from your profile and settings — including your privacy toggles, notification preferences, and photos. You can block or report another member directly from their profile, and unblock them later from Settings.

To request a copy of your data, correct inaccurate information, or permanently delete your account, contact us at hello@shadilife.com. We'll act on deletion requests within a reasonable time, except where we're required to retain certain records (for example, to investigate an open safety report).

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, so the service can function as intended. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your profile, photos, and messages within a reasonable period, other than information we're required to retain for legal, safety, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Passwords are stored using one-way hashing, never in plain text. Connections to shadilife.com and the ShadiLife app are encrypted in transit. Access to identity documents and administrative tools is restricted to authorized staff. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information appropriately for the sensitivity of what we hold.

ShadiLife is a matrimonial platform intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
